The Argentinian government is attempting to unilaterally dismiss Dr Pedro Biscay from his role as Director of the country’s Central Bank (BCRA). His “crime” is to publically speak out against the national government and the BCRA’s neoliberal policies, austerity and record public indebtedness which is generating misery for millions of ordinary citizens. This is his duty as a public functionary. ASC added our name to this declaration opposing his victimization and calling for the government to respect the Constitutional guarantee of separation of powers.
It has also been signed by The Madres of the Plaza de Mayo Linea Fundadora, Abuelas, Ni Una Menos, other human rights organisations, trade union leaders, intellectuals, journalists and many others.
